Evil Dead: The Game Ceases New Content Development, Cancels Switch Release

Lady, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to ask you to leave the store.

In a tweet today on the official Evil Dead: The Game Twitter account Saber Interactive announced that future development will cease on Evil Dead: The Game.

While the tweet confirms that the servers will remain up, for now, the future of the game looks bleak and it's probably only a matter of time before the games servers are shut down and we bid farewell to this really great & innovative game. For what’s it worth I felt the game was super interesting in design and stood out amongst the 4v1 horror genre. If you haven’t played it, you should before it fades away to time. While the game ceases future content update it follows a trend of multiple games as service shuttering or shutting down. The game will always have a place in my heart. Hail to the King, baby.

It's just not a genre that interests me. I would love a good Evil Dead game though

Devs need to stop making these MP games that no one will play after a week. I’d kill for a good single player story based evil dead game.

While I agree, I think its harder to do than one would expect. There have been single player games of The Evil Dead and every one failed. Its really hard to duplicate the tone. I'm not saying its impossible or it shouldn't be done, just it isn't easy.

I think Romsteady gifted me a copy of this game. I'll have to check when I get home.
