Back in 2008, in the lead up to the release of Dead Space, EA released an episodic animated graphic novel. These episodes dove into the background of the Marker that was discovered, the unwinding of the lives it affected, and the ultimate collapse of the colony where the main game takes place.
Each week, I would load up my Xbox 360, tab over to the Marketplace, and download the latest episode. It was a horrific look into the background and lore of a game that had garnered a lot of positive attention prior to its release. It did a tremendous job at setting the scene, highlighting the religion behind the Marker, and showcasing the threat this alien artifact posed to those it touched.
I figured what better time to revisit this sick and twisted comic series than in the lead up to the release of the Dead Space remake. Take a look at the full thing below. It still gives me chills.
