My thoughts from PAX East 2022

Here are some of my thoughts, post PAX East!

Steve.T

Last week was PAX East in Boston and I was fortunate enought to be able to attend. It was fun to get to attend a convention in person again and to see some people I haven't seen in a long time. That being said, I'm going to talk about some of the hightlights from trip. For the record these are games that I got to play at PAX so it's my opinion. If I didn't play it, it's not here!

Best games from PAX East!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge from Dotemu/Tribute Games. This game feels like a sequel to Turtles in Time. If you know the control scheme from Turtles in Time, then you should have no issue playing Shredder's Revenge. There are some differences like having special attacks but this game was one of, if not the best game at PAX this year!

Potionomics from XSEED Games combines the action of card games with the sim-like aspect of running your own potionshop, that you suddenly become the owner of. You play as Sylvia who takes over the shop and has to learn how to be a successful business woman on the fly!

The Last Hero of Nostalgia comes from Thunderful and I think this is a great idea. It's like Dark Souls only it's in a video game world; it doesn't hide the fact that it's a video game and the world is slowly downgrading to an old-school looking game. The main character gets turned into a hangman looking 8 bit player and you have to get to the bottom of why it's happening.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising from 505 Games feels like an old school JRPG with sidescrolling action. You arrive in town without money/options so you have to help the townspeople as well as gain a reputation. Whereas the other game Super Bullet Break from PQube plays like a classic RPG with free gotcha mechanics. As you progress through you'll be able to get different cards, bullets, for you deck and some of them are pretty strong.

Best soda- Wild Bill's Soda from my neck of the woods, New Jersey. If you've gone to a convention and you see people with a big tin cup, it's probably from Wild Bills.

Best dog-XSEED for their game, Melon Journey: Bitter Memories for Strong Dog. A dog who has muscles ontop of muscles!

Best Fit- TMNT: Shredder's Revenge hits the right buttons for TMNT fans wanting a brand new game that looks really good.
