After a few false starts, it looks like Coon & Friends with be making their debut in South Park: The Fractured, But Whole on October 17. Fans of the series are hoping Ubisoft can stick the release date this time.

The game has had a rough development cycle. Originally slated to come out December 6, it was delayed until Q1 of this year because "The development team wants to make sure the game experience meets the high expectations of fans." Then Q1 came and went with no mention of the game. But now, Ubisoft seems certain on this date - hopefully. Perhaps the delay was so The End is Near upgrade could be added.

The premise to this game is Cartman's band of superheroes to save South Park from a crime wave. Each kid will have a backstory to their hero, and as the New Kid, you'll create your character, costume and fart-based powers to help save the day. South Park: The fractured But whole will have a different game mechanic than the previous Stick of Truth, adding some turn-based elements to the RPG.

There will be four editions to the game, Standard, Gold, Steelbook Gold and Collector’s, with the latter having an RC car as part of the rather high price. A pre-order of any edition will get you Towelie: Your Gaming Bud as an assistant, as well as a free copy of South Park: The Stick of Truth.

South Park: The Fractured, But Whole is still slated to come out for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Sorry, Switch fans, you're out of luck.
