2K Sports has unveiled NBA 2K18, with Shacknews favorite and April Fool's namesake Shaquille O'Neal as the Legend cover athlete. The game will be released on Sept. 15 later this year.
In the announcement trailer for the annualized installment, Shaq thanks everyone before ex-Legend cover athlete Kobe Bryant sticks it to him by taking over the teleprompter, turning our man into his own version of Shaqtin' a Fool. Payback is coming, Kobe.
The game will come in three flavors, with the basic for $59.99, a Legend edition for $99.99, and the Legend Gold Edition for $149.99/ A pre-order will get you 5,000 VC (the in-game currency), 10 weekly MyTeam packs (with your Team 2K card), and MyPlayer apparel. It will also get you access to the game four days before its official release.
The Legend Edition gets 100,000 VC, 20 MyTeam packs, Shaq Attaq shoes, Shaq jerseys and apparel, a championship ring, a Shaq poster and MyTeam stickers, and five Shaq trading cards. Legend Gold gets all of that plus and additional 150,000 VC, 20 more MyTeam packs, five extra Shaq cards, the Shaq jersey collection, and a lenticular cover.
All of that stuff is digital or a replica, by the way. Don't expect a real championship ring. That had to be said because, you know. certain people need things to be spelled out.
Disclaimer: Shaq did not pay us to promote this. We did it for #Shaqnews.
