Middle-earth: Shadow of War Trailer Unveils 16 Minutes of Gameplay

It's so much better (and longer) than the silly teaser that hyped its release.

The first Middle-earth: Shadow of War gameplay trailer is out, and we finally get a solid 16 minutes of gameplay showing off the revised Nemesis System and the abilities of hero Talion.

The trailer, as expected, is rather bloody, with dismemberment and decapitations galore. But you do get a solid look at many of Talion's abilities and his "recruiting" methods for bringing enemies to his cause. Here, he is laying siege to a stronghold held by one of Sauron's Overlords in the valley of Seregost. We see a few plot twists and betrayals, something that will be common in the new game. Once the conquest is complete, players can promote a new Warchief to oversee the stronghold and spread its own unique influence through the area.

The new Nemesis System emphasizes everything as being dynamic, where no two players will experience the same gameplay. There will be plenty of different ways to take down fortresses and defeat enemies throughout the game using the power of the New Ring. The trailer really is excellent, and didn't need the ridiculous teaser from yesterday to promote it.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War is the sequel to Shadow of Mordor, and will be coming out on August 22 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The game will also support PS4 Pro and the new Scorpio, which Microsoft will unveil at E3.
