Gwent adding new playable faction coming early next month

Update will add the Nilfgaard to the currently running closed beta.

The Witcher's new standalone card game Gwent is still in closed beta, but CD Projekt continues to roll out plenty of new content and cards. A new update coming on February 6 will add a new playable faction as well.

The Nilfgaard will be added along with more than 60 cards. "The faction equips players with a set of new gameplay mechanics such as revealing cards in the opponent’s hand, controlling the order of cards in player decks, and trickery based on the use of disloyal units," developer CD Projekt Red said in a blog update..

Some of the faction specific cards include Northern Realms, Scoia'tael, Skellige and Monsters. There will also be several neutral cards added that can be used by any faction. There will be a livestream on Febraury 1 on the official Twitch channel discussing the new faction and all the changes.

Players can still register for the closed beta, which is playable on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs.
