Fire Emblem Warriors Announced for the Nintendo Switch

Fire Emblem gets in on the Warriors style in this new Switch title.

During their Nintendo Switch event, Nintendo announced Fire Emblem Warriors from Koei Tecmo for the all-new console/hybrid platform. Joining the likes of Hyrule Warriors, Fire Emblem Warriors mixes the likes of Dynasty Warriors gameplay with characters from the Fire Emblem series.

Little else of the game was shown, but it's fair to assume we will learn more in the coming weeks and months. It's not known whether Fire Emblem Warriors will be a new story in the Fire Emblem universe, a retelling of an older story, or a hodgepodge of characters and enemies from throughout the Fire Emblem series.

Several other games were announced for the new Nintendo Switch alongside Fire Emblem Warriors, including Shin Megami Tensei, Dragon Quest X and XI, and an all-new JRPG called Project Octopath Traveler.

The Nintendo Switch will release on March 3, 2017, but no launch date has been announced yet for Fire Emblem Warriors.
