Overwatch voice lines hint at Valentine's Day seasonal event

Love is in the air, courtesy of Blizzard's class-based shooter.

Industrious Reddit user akhanubis did some digging and found voice lines in Overwatch that point to a Valentine's Day-themed season event.

Not all of the voice lines are new, but at least two between characters Genji and Mercy talk about buying chocolates, a traditional romantic gesture, as gifts for one another.

Only eight months old, Overwatch has already established a pattern of running seasonal events. Last August, Blizzard trained hard to look snazzy in their Olympic attire. The heroes spooked one another for Halloween. Finally, Santa Claus left Overwatch characters new skins for Christmas.

Blizzard has yet to confirm more holiday events. Until it does, you can sate your desire for Overwatch updates by trying out patch 1.7.0 on the game's public test region.

  Unlikely. There was a recent post by the developers that specifically said there would not be a Valentine's Day event. More likely these are just pre-round lines that are said on particular dates -- Some of the heroes talk about New Year's resolutions right now.
