Shacknews wishes you very happy holidays

The end of the year is upon us, and the industry is once again settling down for a long winter's nap. Shacknews has put on its kerchief and cap as well, and will be taking a holiday break. The news crew will still be watching the feed with care and keeping you informed on any breaking developments, but for the most part, the next week will consist of our annual Game of the Year countdown.

Starting on Monday, we'll be featuring a few games from our countdown, all leading to our Shacknews Game of the Year reveal on Friday, December 30. The week will be littered with other retrospectives as well, including our individual favorite overlooked gems, and a look back at some of the best DLC, Virtual Reality, and biggest news stories of the year. We'll also be featuring Chatty's own Game of the Year, which again counted as one staff vote. 

Finally, Saturday, December 31 will be our final look back at the year that was, with the naming of our Person of the Year, and a special note looking forward to 2017.

We look forward to talking all about the Game of the Year picks with you, so keep your eyes peeled, and have a very safe and happy holiday.
