Harvest Moon Creator Yasuhiro Wada's New Game, Birthdays the Beginning is Coming in March

Harvest Moon gave you the ability to care for crops and animals, but the series creator, Yasuhiro Wada, is going a step further in his latest game. In Birthdays the Beginning, you are God to a small stretch of land, and it's up to you to make sure that it has a chance to thrive.

Birthdays the Beginning gives you full control over the weather, terraforming, and the speed of the world you're given. As you create favorable conditions, life will start to sprout on your lands. As time goes on, species will come into bloom, die off, and mutate into new creatures. The goal of Birthdays the Beginnings is to bring forth all 300 forms of flora and fauna the game offers and catalog them.

This looks to be a unique adventure, sort of like a minimalist version of SimEarth but more accessible. Birthdays the Beginning releases on March 7, 2017, for PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam.
