We’re just hours away from the launch of one of the biggest shooters to release this holiday season, and Activision and Infinity Ward have revealed some new information regarding Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare that includes new game modes, side missions, and a VR experience

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will feature a number of game modes, two of which were revealed yesterday: Specialist and YOLO Mode.

Specialist is unlocked after completing the game and offers an “intensely realistic” experience as your health won't regenerate, and instead can only be replenished through the use of Nano Shots, headshots can only be protected through the use of helmets, and a shot to the legs or arms will cripple your abilities.

YOLO Mode is Infinite Warfare’s permadeath mode which can only be accessed after completing Specialist mode. As the name suggests, you’ll only be given one chance to complete the game. If you die, you’ll have to return to the start of the game.

Side missions will also be available for the first time in the Call of Duty series. Players will be able to earn upgrades by completing optional side missions, which includes upgrades to your suit and your Jackal fighter jet. Weapon armories will also be scattered throughout the game and will offer unique weapons, like the Eraser gun, and the ability to upgrade a piece of your lethal or tactical gear.

Those with a PlayStation VR headset will be able to try out the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare – Jackal Assault VR Experience, which will immerse players within the cockpit of a Jackal. This experience will be free to all PlayStation 4 owners and can be accessed on November 4.
