Halo 5: Guardians will support joining live custom games on PC and Xbox One

Halo 5: Guardians is celebrating its first anniversary, so players not only get a special REQ pack today, but a promise of joining custom games on both PC and Xbox One.

Today marks the first anniversary of the release of Halo 5: Guardians, and to mark the special occasion, Microsoft and 343 Industries is giving away a REQ Pack for all who log into the game today as well as revealing some interesting news for Windows 10 PC players.

The Greatest Hits Customization REQ Pack will be available for all who simply log into Halo 5: Guardians for today only. 343 Industries doesn’t go into detail as to what is included in this pack, so you’re going to have to fire up the game in order to see what special REQs the company has made available on this special day.

Since launch, Halo 5: Guardians has received a total of nine updates, fifteen new multiplayer maps, six new game modes, and hundreds of new REQ items to help customize, and improve, each player’s experience. 343 Industries has also featured over sixty community-created maps, expanded the game’s support to include public APIs and not only launching Halo 5: Forge, but its PC version as well.

343 Industries isn’t done with Halo 5: Guardians, though. The studio has promised to support the ability to browse and join live custom games on both Windows 10 PC and Xbox One, introducing additional maps within the Warzone Firefight game mode, new Forge canvases, an improved spectator mode, and server improvements to matchmaking.
