Here's when you can play Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel

FromSoftware's newest expansion unlocks soon on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

Dark Souls 3 is FromSoftware's final entry in the Dark Souls series, but it's still got two tricks up its sleeve. The developer announced two DLC expansions, and the first, Ashes of Ariandel, unlocks soon for PS4 and Xbox One.

PC players can begin playing Ashes of Ariandel now on Steam. The Xbox One and PS4 editions unlock at 9:00 pm Pacific tonight; that's midnight in Eastern time.

Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel costs $14.99. That's the going rate of the second (as-yet unannounced) expansion, too. You can save 10 bucks by purchasing the season pass, which includes both DLCs.

If you need a hand navigating the Painted World of Ariandel, check out our guide on accessing the area, and how to defeat its final boss. For my take on the expansion, read my review on Shacknews.

I need to get back on it. The last boss I defeated was Wolnir

It's good! Not as much hidden stuff as previous installments, but still very well-crafted. I just wish there were fewer bonfires, although some of the pre-boss PvE stuff was realy rough.

I really like it. I just have to be in a modd for Dark Souls. The closer toHalloween we get though, the more I want to scratch that itch.
