Here's when you can play Battlefield 1

EA's WWI-themed shooter launches this Friday, but some players get a head start.

Battlefield 1 technically launches this Friday, but some of the game is playable now for subscribers of EA or Origin Access.

EA Access and Origin Access are the same thing, but for Xbox One and PC, respectively. Subscribers gained access to Battlefield 1's Play First trial, which contains a slice of single-player and multiplayer content: four modes and five maps for multiplayer, and the single-player Storm of Steel and Through Mud and Blood missions.

One caveat: BF1's Play First content expires after 10 hours, so make it last.

No Access subscription program exists for PS4. However, anyone who buys the $80 Early Enlister Edition for any platform gets access starting at midnight tomorrow, Tuesday, October 18.

Everyone else interested in Battlefield 1 can play beginning around midnight this Friday, October 21.
