Microsoft and The Coalition found a few bumps in the road toward Gears of War 4's worldwide release, but players experiencing server downtimes should be back up and running soon.

"Gears of War 4 services are rolling back online. We will be doing further improvements later today. There may be quick disruptions," reads a tweet from the official Gears of War Twitter account.

Digital copies of Gears of War 4: Ultimate Edition unlocked over last night and day, and Microsoft and The Coalition are dealing with higher-than-expected demand. That's par for the course when any hotly anticipated title finally sees the light of the day.

A few speed bumps won't slow what looks to be a massive success for The Coalition. In our review-in-progress, Shacknews CEO Asif Khan proclaimed Gears of War 4 "a fantastic addition to a great franchise" and "one of the best games to be released this year, without a doubt."
