Gravity Rush 2 Delayed To January 2017

Unfortunately, this hotly-anticipated adventure has been pushed back.

It looks like 2017 is claiming several of our games, with Gravity Rush 2 being sent to the "dark side," as it were. If you were looking forward to it as a special holiday treat, unfortunately you're going to have to be a little more patient going forawrd.

Director Keiichiro Toyama has announced that the main reason for the delay is actually due to a busy holiday release season. Toyama wants players to have "enough time to dive deep into Kat's story." Fair enough, since there are so many other games coming out around that time. It does seem to be a game that needs time to breathe. Toyama continues:

“In addition, as a lot of work went into online features that allow for asynchronous player interaction, we want as many people as possible playing the title at the same time.

“I would like to apologize to all those players anxiously awaiting Gravity Rush 2. After four years of development making a title we are very proud of, we want to release it at the very best time.”

Perhaps as reparations, the DLC planned after launch will now be released free of charge. The game has now been pushed to January 20 for North American players.
