Killer7 and No More Heroes should get remastered, Suda51 says

The Silver Case, a 1999 PS1 adventure game from Japan, is coming to the U.S. in remastered form, and game creator and Grasshopper Manufacture CEO Goichi Suda took the announcement as an opportunity to look forward a bit.

With the company's 20th anniversary approaching, Suda51 thinks it might be time to remaster a few of his other popular games for the new consoles, with Killer7 being first on the list, followed closely by No More Heroes. "He really wants to do something if possible for those two titles at least," Suda told Destructoid though translator James Mountain, who localized The Silver Case. "(Suda) wants to do something in line with that (anniversary)."

Suda also is still full of ideas. "He's actually got a lot of ideas right now about stuff that he could do (in future games) to surprise people," Mountain said.

He said the same thing when he talked to Shacknews recently. “I don’t want to copy other people. I don’t want to follow others. Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve always wanted to do something different from other people.”

With the Silver Case, he said he liked the idea of getting back in touch with the feeling of being indie: "With putting out this game, we wanted to go back 17 years ago, before I was Suda51, back when I was just some guy making stuff and be a creator and embrace that indie feeling.”

No More Heroes did get remastered. Does he want to remaster it as frequently as Resident Evil 4?

and I thought the remaster supposedly wasn't as good as the original or something?

NMH has some awesome style to it and everything, but the gameplay ain't so good :(

When I played it on Wii a long time ago I remember thinking it was kind of shameless fanservice. Solely meant to pander to nerdy otaku gamer types. You think you get me Suda 51, but you don't get me. You don't get me at all man I'm fucking deep.

I never cared for it much. Killer 7 is so much more thought provoking.

Killer is Dead is great too, but so difficult, I haven't finished it. :(

I haven't played Killer 7 since 2006, so I'd love to replay it in 4K or something

I'll take it, I've played the more recent Suda51 games but haven't played these. They are definitely unique games

Killer 7 is a masterpiece. If he can ever top it, it'll be monumental.
