The Road to Battlefield has been EA's way of building excitement for Battlefield 1 coming October 21. Last week's free DLC was Battlefield Hardline: Criminal Activity. This week, it appears to be Battlefield 4: China Rising.

While it hasn't been officially updated on the Battlefield website, Major Nelson revealed in his weekly Deals with Gold spotlight, that China Rising was free this week for Xbox One and Xbox 360 Gold members. If EA sticks with the previous release schedules for the free DLC, China Rising should become free on Origin and the PlayStation Store at noon ET / 9 a.m. PT.

If you don't have the DLC already, you will be getting four new maps, new vehicles and the usual array of new gadgets and guns. When it is official announced on the Road to Battlefield site, there will also probably be some sort of Community event for bonus XP and in game cash during the length of the free period. The DLC should be free for a week, concluding on August 9, at noon ET / 9 a.m. PT.

The timing of the Xbox announcement allows us to remind you that the Battlefield Hardline: Criminal Activity DLC is still free until the new DLC kicks in at noon / 9 a.m. So grab it while you can if you haven't already.
