Although the PC and Xbox One versions of Fallout 4 got mod support in a timely fashion, the PS4 version has been beleaguered by delays and silence from both Sony's and Bethesda's camps. It goes from bad to worse: Bethesda still has no concrete information to share on when the feature will be integrated into the PS4 edition of the game.

"We’re working w/ Sony on Fallout 4 Mod support for PS4. The process is still under evaluation. As soon as we learn more, we will share news," wrote Bethesda VP of marketing and public relations Pete Hines on Twitter.

Bethesda had to delay mod support for the PS4 version at the end of June, then went on radio silence for most of July. A flurry of tweets from Hines over July 22 and 23 indicated that the reason for delay falls in Sony's lap, not Bethesda's.

"We continue to try and get an update so we can share something. We still haven't gotten one," he wrote (via GameSpot). When a fan replied that offering little to no info on the reason for the delay or a release date for mod support on PS4, Hines replied, "I don't disagree. We have explained that to 'others' so we can get/share an update. so far it hasn't worked."

"Others" seemed to imply Sony, though Hines pleased the fifth. "I'm not going to get into specifics. if I was able to have an open dialog and explain what's up I would have long ago."
