BioShock: The Collection coming to PC and consoles this September

In celebration of the franchise's upcoming ninth birthday, 2K has announced BioShock: The Collection for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The bundle will include remastered editions of BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock Infinite, courtesy of 2K partner studio Blind Squirrel Games, and will be available digitally and as a retail product on September 13.

One exception for PC players is BioShock Infinite, which 2K says has not been remastered because "it already meets current-gen console standards and runs smoothly on high visual settings," according to a press release.

The standard asking price of $59.99 gets you more than gussied-up HD versions of each installment in the trilogy, however. "BioShock: The Collection brings the three titles together for the first time, complete with all single-player DLC and a never-before- seen video series, 'Director’s Commentary: Imagining BioShock,' which includes insights from Ken Levine," 2K reps told us.

To ensure a complete experience, BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite include all single-player DLC—Minerva's Den, Burial at Sea, challenge modes, and more. BioShock 2's multiplayer modes and multiplayer add-on content have been left down in Rapture.

Shawn Robertson, lead animator on BioShock and BioShock Infinite, will join director Ken Levine to talk inside baseball about the series. In the same vein, you'll get to walk through a virtual museum that houses concept art for characters and concepts that didn't make the cut. A challenge mode that pits you against enemies and puzzles rounds out the new goodies included in the package.
