If you have yet to experience the unbridled joy of playing soccer with tricked-out cars, Pysonix and Steam have a tempting offer: as of today at 10am Pacific, Rocket League is available for free through Sunday, April 24, at 1pm Pacific.

Should you decide to go all-in after taking Rocket League for a test drive, you can get it at a 40 percent discount on Steam through Monday, April 25, at 10am Pacific.

But hey, maybe you're ahead of the curve. Maybe you've been Rocket League-ing since the game became a sleeper hit last summer. Don't worry; Psyonix didn't forget about you. All content packs are on sale for 20 percent on Steam, making this weekend a great time to round out your collection of cars and arenas. That discount applies to bundles as well, so get friends to chip in.

"Enjoy the influx of new players everyone — and if you’re new to Rocket League altogether, then welcome to the family," Psyonix wrote in its announcement of the game's free weekend on Steam.

your steam friends list is the easiest way.
setup a "team" and invite your friends onto it.

The gameplay is great but for some reason I suck at it, I don't think I'm going to purchase this

There's a real learning curve and lots of people have been playing for months and months now.

Like anything else, you have to play more to get better. Also, check out the tutorials and training modes. They help.

What is the most active game mode? I tried 1v1 and it said there were only 617 players.
