Tacoma delayed to next year

Sometimes a game just needs some space.

Fullbright's follow-up to Gone Home will have to wait until next year, the studio has announced.

In a blog update, Fullbright moved the game from a nebulous 2016 release to a more specific, but further-off, spring of 2017 window. The studio says that after its unveiling, it looked at playtest feedback and "decided to reexamine and rework a number of the core assumptions we'd held about the game." Those include factors like gravity physics, as well as storytelling beats like the implications of augmented reality.

"It’s been an important process but it’s also taken time… time that would’ve otherwise been devoted to getting the game further on toward being finished and shipped," the update says.

We'll have a better idea of what exactly has changed this summer, when Fullbright says a new build will be ready to show.
