World of Warcraft: Legion system requirements revealed

It looks like you won't need to have quite an outrageous system in order to join the Legion.

Blizzard has revealed the system requirements for World of Warcraft: Legion. Yes - apparently not everyone can play World of Warcraft these days.

Here are the minimum requirements you’ll need to play the upcoming expansion:

  • OS: Windows® XP / Windows Vista® / Windows® 7 / Windows® 8 / Windows® 10 with latest service pack
  • Processor: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E8500 or AMD Phenom™ II X3 720
  • Video: NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 440 or AMD™ Radeon™ HD 5670 or Intel® HD Graphics 5000
  • Memory: 2 GB RAM
  • Storage: 45 GB available hard drive space
  • Internet: Broadband internet connection
  • Media: DVD-ROM drive
  • Input: Keyboard and mouse required. Other input devices are not supported.
  • Resolution: 1024 x 768 minimum display resolution

And here are the recommended specifications, which aren’t that outrageous:

  • OS: Windows® 10 64-bit with latest service pack
  • Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-3330, AMD™ FX-6300, or better
  • Video: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 750 Ti or AMD™ Radeon™ R7 260X or better
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Storage: 45 GB available hard drive space
  • Internet: Broadband internet connection
  • Media: DVD-ROM drive
  • Input: Multi-button mouse with scroll wheel
  • Resolution: 1024 x 768 minimum display resolution

We found it interesting Blizzard is recommending an input device for World of Warcraft: Legion. While we’re sure your current mouse & keyboard setup are more than adequate, Blizzard is recommending you invest in a multi-button mouse to play its expansion. We know MMOs tend to go overboard with how many hotkeys can be used, but to recommend a multi-button mouse is a bit extreme.

Everyone should have a multibutton mouse, and that mouse should be the G502 with its extra top buttons.

I wonder if the game is even playable on the original recommended specifications from 2004. I some how doubt it. The base game used to only require something around a 6600GTX and P4 or Amd Athlon 64. The requirements now are probably easily 3-5x higher than that.

I would assume anyone going to play legion would already know if their PC could run wow, and they wouldn't crank up the requirements too steeply
