The open beta for Fable Legends has been pushed back to next spring.

A post on the official blog explains the delay. The team says it is extending its closed beta period to "add features and polish." It will be inviting an additional 100,000 players to the closed beta over the next few weeks, saying it will prioritize those who have been on the waitlist the longest.

"To be honest, we didn’t anticipate just how big Fable Legends is becoming. It’s simply the most ambitious game we’ve ever created at Lionhead," the note said. "And it’s taking more time than we thought. To achieve our aspirations for Fable Legends, we’ve moved our open beta release to spring of 2016. So to all of you who have been playing in our closed beta, and to all of you who have been waiting patiently for the game to release into open beta, we want to thank you on behalf of everyone at Lionhead."

The beta has been running since mid-October, but those not lucky enough to get in yet will now have to wait another few months.
