PaRappa The Rapper 2 kicks and punches its way to PS4 next week

Remember, PaRappa. It's all in the mind.

Sony’s latest PlayStation Blogcast episode has revealed PaRappa the Rapper 2 will be available on PlayStation 4 on December 15 via its PlayStation 2 emulation.

PaRappa the Rapper 2 originally released back in 2001 on the PlayStation 2, and even though it may not have been as popular as the original title, it still included some extremely catchy tunes from a variety of unique characters.

Pricing wasn’t mentioned during the podcast, although we can’t imagine the game retailing for more than $15.

On the Bombcast they always mention that all these old rhythm games don't work well on most modern TVs due to refresh rate and input lag. Anyone have any experience with this?

They work ok but it's definitely very different than a CRT, and it's pretty much impossible to get a Cool rank.

I recent played some of the modern consoles on an HD TV instead of a computer monitor, and input lag is the real deal. Make sure you turn off that post processing if you can, or better yet look for TVs that are game friendly.

That's very true, which is why current rhythm games will have some setting to compensate for the display lag. Compared to years past, today's HDTVs are much better than they were so this isn't as big a problem as it used to be. It still exists, though. I still can't play Megaman properly on most HDTVs as the timing is all screwed up and I fall into pits.
