This 2Dark trailer showcases a new horror adventure from Alone in the Dark's designer

2Dark may end up being 2Spooky 4U.

We haven't heard a peep out of Alone in the Dark designer Frederick Raynal since he and the rest of the folks in his team at Gloomywood announced 2Dark, a stealth horror game. Many either forgot about it entirely or wrote it off given that it's been a year since the announcement, but now it's back with a vengeance and a trailer to go along with it.

The trailer, which is perfect for Halloween, shows off some appropriately creepy imagery and snippets of gameplay as you follow one Mr. Smith as he embarks on a quest to rescue kids from a cavalcade of serial killers. It looks like they're destined for some gruesome fates if you don't get to them in time, and the fact that these kids are in actual danger (as opposed to most games that won't even broach the subject) makes it seem like 2Dark could be one title to watch in the coming year.

You can preorder the game now for early beta access, but the game isn't scheduled for release until 2016.
