Shack Reels: Top 10 Games With The Best Stories

In this week's Top 10 list, Greg goes over games he feels to have the absolute best storyline.

The story of a game could make or break the entire experience. If the story makes no sense, no amount of cool gameplay can save it. On the other hand, combine an amazing story with addictive gameplay, and you have a game that will live on in the hearts and minds of gamers around the world.

For this week’s Top 10, Greg Burke takes a look at some of the games, and game series, he considers to have the best stories. Grab your microwavable popcorn and a package of Raisenets and take a trip down memory lane as Greg tells us a magical tale of… well, games with magical tales.

I'd have swapped The Witcher and Bioshock's positions, but otherwise, I agree with this.

While entertaining, I wouldn't put it in a top 15 list for stories. The story is serviceable but predictable and not told in any unique way.

Pretty Reasonable, pretty reasonable! At first I was moderately outraged that TLoU was #10 but I suppose I can understand as TLoU isnt so much the story iteself as *HOW* the story is told.... so you get a pass. Should have still been top 5 though.

Planescape Torment should have been in there somewhere and not just an honorable mention. Other than that pretty good. Bioshock never grabbed me so I'd probably swap it with the Witcher saga.

I feel Homeworld should've been on this list (and perhaps the Deus Ex series too).
