Apple has launched an official Twitter account dedicated to games called @AppStoreGames.

The Twitter account will deliver content directly from Apple’s App Store editors as new releases, deals, tips and tricks, game challenges, and behind-the-scenes info seem to be the main focus of the account at the moment.

Apple showing its love for games just prior to a major event could be seen as a hint its planning on taking gaming a little more serious. According to a rumor first reported by 9to5 Mac, Apple is expected to announce a new Apple TV that will focus heavily on gaming.

The new Apple TV is expected to have a new remote that will come with a touchscreen, buttons, motion sensors, and have Siri support. As for the Apple TV itself, we expect it to have an A8 processor and come in 8GB and 16GB storage options, which may not seem like much considering some iOS games can weigh in at over 1GB in size.

For now, enjoy the fact that Apple has created a Twitter account dedicated to getting the word out for its iOS games. Although, we think at this point, everyone should know what some of the big games are for iOS. All you would need to do is visit the App Store, although this could be seen as yet another avenue to get your info directly from Apple’s App Store editors.
