Sony has announced its Vote to Play program will start on Thursday, allowing PlayStation 4 owners to vote on three games that could become available for free in September.

Sony has announced the first games that will take part in its PlayStation Plus Vote to Play feature are Armello, Grow Home, and Zombie Vikings.

We learned about the Vote to Play feature a few weeks ago which will allows PlayStation Plus members the ability to vote on one of three PlayStation 4 games for the following month’s PS Plus game lineup. The game with the most votes will automatically be included in September’s free games lineup while the other two will receive a discount for PS Plus members.

Voting starts on August 13 at 8:30am PT and ends August 24 8:30 PT. In order to vote, PS Plus members would need to log into their PlayStation 4 to access the Vote to Play feature located under What’s New, Notifications, or visit the PS Plus section of the PlayStation Store.

Sony says there will be more events in the future, although we hope this becomes a regular monthly feature. Not only do we appreciate knowing what games may be available for free for the following month, but we also like having the power in our hands as to what game is added to the following month’s free games lineup.

      Vote Armello!

I've been meaning to do a writeup on this game because there doesn't seem to be much chatter around it, but the short version is that it's a gorgeous turn-based character strategy game inspired heavily by board games. So if you're into digital board games, I would highly recommend it.

3rd best game this year so far.

        1. Der Witcha
        2. Dying Light
        3. Grow Home
        4. Rocket League

You liked Dying Light that much? Maybe I should go back and give it a second shake. I bought it when the price was all screwy, so I got it cheap, but I didn't play much of it.

I seriously loved it. It has less open world jank than even The Witcher 3 and the first-person movement/combat is sublime. The back half of the game (the 2nd map) really cracks the parkour aspect wide open and you have so many options to get a flow going around the environment.

I also loved the beginning of the game, before you have all these powers/good weapons, because it was legit terrifying and immersive. Don't even think about going out at night at that point in the game and even during the day you better be careful as hell.

That game seriously came out of nowhere and rocked major asses.

If they had that on the back cover I would have bought it

Is the full slate for next month up for vote, and this is the first ballot for one of them, or is voting for only one of the slate and this is that vote?
