Today Oculus has announced via their blog that Pebbles Interfaces, a company who is known for depth sensing technology and leading computer vision, is joining the Oculus team. Not to be confused by Pebble, the maker of the Pebble watch, the team is based out of Israel, and has worked the last five years to develop technology using custom optics, sensor systems, and new algorithms that will unlock newer, and better human interaction methods in virtual reality.

Pebbles Interfaces is joining the Oculus team in order to help further hardware engineering and advance virtual reality, tracking, and human to computer interactions in the virtual world. Nadav Grossinger, the CTO of Pebbles Interfaces, stated that ‘We’ve always believed visual computing will be the next major platform in our lifetime, and we’re excited to join the Oculus team to achieve that vision for the future.’
