Wargaming announced today its free-to-play MMO, World of Tanks, will launch July 28 for Xbox One.

The World of Tanks port will feature enhanced visuals and will be the first Xbox One title to feature cross-platform multiplayer support with the Xbox 360 version. Players who already own an Xbox 360 copy will be able to transfer their progress to the Xbox One Edition. The new version will also introduce the Proving Grounds - a player versus-environment (PvE) mode.

TJ Wagner, Executive Producer at Wargaming Chicago said, “The introduction of some first-ever features including cross-platform multiplayer and voice between Xbox 360 and Xbox One and the exciting new PvE mode is going to give gamers, whether they’re already players or not, a whole new World of Tanks experience.”

Tankers are able to preload the game starting July 10. Xbox One gamers will be able to participate in the Xbox One World of Tanks Beta Weekend on July 11-12. World of Tanks will be a free download for Xbox Live Gold members and other Xbox Live account holders will have access through a free seven-day trial.
