CD Projekt Red has released a new gameplay video featuring gameplay from The Witcher 3’s Xbox One version. For those who don’t know, Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s resolution will be dynamically scaled up to 1080 from the normal 900P that the Xbox One features. The game still looks stunning, even with the scaled textures, and the gameplay in the video shows off the series-known Meditation mode, as well as more combat.

In the video we see Geralt riding through a swamp-like area on his horse. He comes across a group of wolves, and takes them on using his magical abilities, and his sword. He also takes on a group of Drowners later on in the video, showing off the decapitation, and gore that Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has become known for since its announcement in February of 2013. The game is currently set to release on May 19th, just a week from now, and will be available on PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4.

You can check out the gameplay below for yourself.

I'm confused. When does it dynamically scale up to 1080p -- during loading scenes, anywhere, in caves?

      Also video is in 720p.

We're uploading a 1080P version now. That was our mistake.

Also, they haven't really released too many details (that I know of) about where the game scales things up, though it does look like it only reaches that resolution in certain instances. I assume the area in the video is one such instance, however, it doesn't look like the entire game will run in 1080P.

Oops. Looks like my earlier post didn't go through...

We were unable to download the direct video, due to link click restrictions on the PR link. Sadly, that means we couldn't upload a full on 1080P version. Sorry guys.

However, you can view the original video, via the game's YouTube channel here. https://youtu.be/HGG9yXmRCyQ

idk if that's youtube compression or xbone whatever but that looks awful at 1080p

Yeah. It has issues. I think its more YouTube than anything, but I'm not sure how the Xbox One recording software works, as some encoders give off terrible quality like that too.

Looked nice enough but it seemed a little jittery in battle. That green achievement pop up was a bit jarring, and I normally appreciate that stuff. And it makes me think it would be nice if the achievements matched the game instead of having the generic border.

The YT compression on the official 1080p version is atrocious.

I'm not concerned, even if it looks like The Witcher 2 - I'm playing through that right now and it still looks great maxed out.
