505 Games and Overkill announced earlier this year Payday 2: Crimewave Edition would be offering summertime co-op heists on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in June 2015. Today, both companies have announced the title will now be officially launching on June 16 both at retail and as a digital download.

The Crimewave Edition of Payday 2 will include over a year’s worth of DLC packs and content updates, including Big Bank Heist and Clover, the first female heister. Players will be able to enjoy an improved frame rate and better textures running at a full 1080p resolution as well as new heists and contacts. One such contact, called The Dentist, is voiced by Giancarlo Esposito, who is best known as Gus from Breaking Bad, while another, called The Butcher, is voiced by Mira Furlan, who is known as Minbari Ambassador Delenn on Babylon 5.

New characters, more masks, a new perk system, new jobs, multi-stage contracts, and a wider variety of weapons like shotguns, sniper rifles and grenades round out some of the improvements made to the Crimewave Edition of Payday 2.

Those who preorder Payday 2: Crimewave Edition at participating retailers will unlock the Hard Time Loot Bag, which includes the following digital goods:

  • Red dot weapon sight modification available for use on all rifle weapons
  • Exclusive Skull mask
  • PlayStation 4 or Xbox One exclusive mask
  • Unique mask pattern titled "I LOVE OVERKILL"
  • Unique color pattern, only available with this unlock
  • Bundle of in-game cash

We went hands on with the Crimewave Edition of Payday 2 last month, so feel free to check that out if you're curious what we thought about it so far.
