Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced Batman: Arkham Knight would be receiving a season pass that offers a total of 6 months of post-release content, although information regarding what it’ll include were quite vague at the time. Over the weekend, WBIE took to the Arkham Knight’s forums to detail its season pass content.

The Arkham Knight Season Pass will include a prequel story expansion called Batgirl: A Matter of Family. In this expansion, players will assume control of Batgirl for the first time in the Arkham series, although its story is kept under wraps as of now. Additional expansions includes The Seasons of Infamy, which features new story missions featuring new villains invading Gotham City, and Gotham City Stories, where Batman’s key allies take center stage both in events prior and proceeding the events in Arkham Knight.

The Arkham Knight Season Pass also includes a variety of character skins for Batman, Robin, Nightwing, and Catwoman, additional challenge maps, and access to the most iconic Batmobiles throughout the years.

Batman: Arkham Knight’s Season Pass will retail for $39.99.

      Fucking stupid!
I'm sure WB felt the sting of all the backlash the internet was giving over this dumb-ass "season pass" and the TOLD Rocksteady to remove this from the main game in order for this $40 dollar pass to make sense. Fuck these practices.
Its still two thirds of the full game, so that Batgirl segment better be like 15 hours long.

I don't always agree with DLC and preorder bonuses and season passes and all that other stuff, but I think always going under the assumption that every single piece of extra content sold post-release was originally meant to be in the main game is just ignorant.

We're getting a new story mission featuring Batgirl, a new story mode featuring Batman, a new story mode featuring Batman's sidekicks, a race mode featuring iconic Batmobiles from Batman's history, some new challenge maps and some new skins. You really think all of that was in the game originally and subsequently removed to be sold as DLC?

The cynical side of me says yes.
          But let me be practical:
Here is the info I was able to get off the web on this season pass:
In response to a bit of controversy over the pricing and lack of information for the season pass, the developer revealed on the Arkham Knights forums that players will be able to take on Batgirl in an all-new prequel story.

Other key details for the season pass include playing as Batman in new story missions, featuring “legendary super-villains invading Gotham City,” as well as more story missions for Batman’s supporting cast.

Players will also be able to drive various Batmobiles from the Dark Knight’s 75-year history on custom race tracks. Lastly, expect new challenge maps and a variety of character skins as is tradition for the series.

The studio says more details will be revealed in the future for the monthly DLC releases.

I like, and expect value for dollar. There are a lot of unknowns in this pass.
          How long are these mission?
"legendary supervillians invading Gotham? What does that mean?
Story mission for Batman's supporting cast: Yes, I think this was ripped from the game.
          Skins for the bat-mobile.....?
          Race tracks?
Challenge maps....These where OK, in the previous outings, not $40 bucks worth.

These are vague at best. Do I think these where all ripped from main game, no.
But I do believe a good chuck of it was and some of it was designed to have these drop in elements like these super villain visits.

Still none of this is worth $40.
Unless we are talking about a substantial added amount of time here and not Riddler trophies addition, but real meat to the plot.

I love Batman, but I cant see the value in this.

Well I'm not going to argue against you about it being vague and that it's probably best to wait and see. Just saying that it's doubtful most of this was ever going to be included in the base game. There are 3 extra story missions and I'm going to be optimistic and assume they are of equal or better quality and length as Cold, Cold Heart from AO. If that is the case, they alone would easily be worth the extra $40 and everything else is fun bonus stuff.
The Arkham games have never been short on length and bonus/side shit to do. I don't think anyone NOT on board with the season pass is going to get shafted.

It read to me that these where meant to be dlc from the beginning. Although your sentiment about dlc in general I agree with. Quite a bit of it usually feel like they purposely stripped it from the game just to make an extra buck. But, I generally feel this bundle is done well. Plus, if you get the bundle at preorder it's $10 off the dlc. Still a bit over priced for dlc in my HSO, but it's something.

          Exactly.

Some people argue this is the stuff we used to get for free. No, there were some developers who would give this stuff for free, and they still do. This is the stuff that was cut that we largely never heard about unless there were unused references to it on the disc.
