Forza Horizon 2 on Xbox 360 will not receive DLC

Forza Horizon 2 on Xbox 360 will indeed prove to be an inferior version of its Xbox One counterpart, since it will not receive any DLC, nor will it support Forza Rewards benefits.

Let's flashback to a few days ago, where Microsoft and Playground revealed the Mobil 1 Car Pack for the Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 2. One of the questions raised was when this DLC would hit the game's Xbox 360 version. We now appear to have an answer to that question. The answer is apparently 'never.'

"I've seen a lot of questions from community members about certain features and functionality on the Xbox 360 version of the game, including questions regarding DLC and Forza Rewards for the 360 version of the game," wrote community manager Brian Ekberg on the Forza forums. (via Joystiq) "To clarify: We are currently planning to release DLC only for the Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 2. Also, Forza Rewards benefits are only available in the Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 2. This means that Xbox 360 players will not receive Forza Rewards credits or cars. In addition, progress in the 360 version of Forza Horizon 2 does not count towards your Forza Rewards Tier Level score. Only progress in the Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 2 will count towards your overall Forza Score (and Tier Level) in Forza Rewards."

Further explanation for why the DLC would not make its way to Xbox 360 was not offered, though it should be noted that Sumo Digital is on development duty for this particular version of Forza Horizon 2.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
