  • I know I speak for many of us dedicated listeners in the community when I say, "THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS FOR 4 EXCELLENT YEARS OF WEEKEND CONFIRMATIONS!"

*I have personally been listening for over 2 years now and haven't missed a single show. For me the Podcast got me through the long hours at work every Saturday night (I work 3rd Shift) and made the start of my work week that much more enjoyable. With the Weekend Confirmed podcast shutting down it is going to make coming into work on Saturday's miserable. WC really did make things in my life better, believe it or not, and filling that void is going to be a hard thing to accomplish. Weekend Confirmed was much more than just a Podcast to me. Garnett & Jeff you seriously made an impact in peoples lives and the dedication you put in every week certainly did not go unnoticed by me or your most loyal listeners. I absolutely Love talking about Video Games and you guys made me feel like it was a viable and important topic in our society and not just some "cute" topic that many people think is only meant for children. WC was a very special Podcast and I will never ever forget the time I spent listening to you all. So again, Thank You Garnett & Jeff and all the great guests of the show over the years! Good Luck with all future endeavors everyone!

*PS - GARNETT & JEFF LET US HELP YOU HELP US...BUILD A KICKSTARTER AND WE WILL COME. I AM SERIOUSLY READY TO GIVE MONEY...I DON'T WANT ANY REWARDS OR PRIZES FOR PLEDGING...WHATEVER YOU NEED, WHATEVER IT TAKES, WE WILL BE THERE.

  • Thank You Brian, Jeff, and Garnett!

A great final episode. At times I have been criticized this show on this forum but despite my criticisms, it was my favorite podcast by Far! I am sad to see it go but like they say, all good things must come to an end.

As far as Garnett feeling like he is jumping ship a bit... I have been one of the harshest critics of Garnett on this forum, but I think most of us feel like he deserves to be happy doing something he loves doing, and if game development is it, then he should do that.

I sincerely Thank all of you for your years of hard work that you put into entertaining us for little to no money.

  • yeah... this really sucks. More than I expected it to. Being a podcast listener is a peculiar thing... although I know that the people on Weekend Confirmed have no idea who I am, it feels like I know them and have become friends with them. If I were walking down the street and I were to run into Jeff, Xav, Garnett, Andrea, or Christian... I'd feel like I could just strike up a conversation with them or grab a beer with them. Is that weird? :-P I'm sad that Weekend Confirmed is over... it feels similar to when a friend moves out of town or something. I hope there's a new show soon. This is a special group of people, and I'm grateful for these past four years! :-)

  • Long time listener, intermittent forum reader and first time commenter.

There have been a lot of goodbyes below already from silent listeners that completely encapsulated my feelings on the demise of WC but I knew I had to add my voice here just to show my appreciation to all the people who made me look forward to traffic in my daily commute to work. I've heard a lot of people commenting in the threads that comes from various countries and I just want to add me and the Philippines in that list.

Thank you Garnett. I honestly think that you and me have the farthest in gaming tastes (I hate driving games and I really don't like listening to you do a 5 min monologue on GT6 or Fortza) and I cannot count the number of times I'm gesticulating wildly (while waiting in traffic) on how absurd you opinion is on a particular topic. I still listen on though since this contrast is one of the reasons why I keep coming back to WC. I don't need affirmation of my tastes; I need that diverse opinion (whether from logic or from your unmistakable passion) to make me have to think about my true stance about what you guys talk about.

I think your standout skill is the way you structure and control the podcasts. Your show seems to be the only gaming podcast that can handle more than 3 people talking yet still sound intelligible. Though I sort of feel sometimes that you guys were grasping for topics to discuss and despite episodes where the alcohol levels are getting high, the podcasts never feel like they are meandering and always feels professional. I also know that your love of playing devil's advocate on unanimous opinions does more to make the podcasts worth listening to than all of you guys patting yourselves on the back that this is the only opinion worth discussing.

That is how you show that this is without a doubt your "goddamn show".

Thank you Jeff. You and me are probably the most alike in gaming tastes and general opinion. I appreciate how with you being there you represent ME in terms of opinions on discussions. I really really love how you really really love things. I really believe that is what is missing most from these types of podcasts. I love how you reel in Garnett and the other guests when they go into bouts of outright negativity.

I've been listening to your own podcast (only up to ep02 though but I plan on listening to all -- commute time has been fast lately) and it's still a bit rough. The structure and the flow of the conversations still leaves a lot to be desired but I plan on listening on. I don't know if it's in the table but I think you really need a 3rd person to remove the formality of the show. Right now it seems a little of my turn, your turn with Spicer in the first episode. The second episode was much better with the third guest (sorry forgot his name) though it seems there was not enough of Jeff Cannata opinions in that episode. You'll get it though; you and Spicer are too good.

In any case, thank you to all the other guests as well. I don't want to enumerate you all (since my post is so long already) but you all did so much to make the show so memorable. My only real worry for the next show of Garnett and Jeff is that a smaller or less professional studio will limit how often multiple guests can come into the show.

I also want to add my voice as one of the persons willing to shell out money to have Garnett and Cannata continue podcasting.

Thanks again. Please. Don't be ghost for long.

  • I finished Ep 202 last night on the drive home and it wasn't until the final Finishing Moves that it really hit me.

I've been listening for roughly 2 years and I've truly enjoyed every show, some more than others of course. GL provided the rock, 2Ns1T picked things up when need be, I LOVE story-time with Nicole though sometimes it did make me feel like my head was going to explode (in a good way). The entire crew of cast and characters brought something unique to the program.

Garnett, if you read this comment, I wanted to express my appreciation for all your hard work (everyone's really - cast, crew, Atlantis Group). Your Finishing Move was most moving of all, of course, and I find it quite admirable you feel you owe something beyond what you've already given. I don't think this is the case, you've already provided so much (and at no cost for that matter) and it was I who felt I had somehow let you and the WC team down. Perhaps I should have written more iTunes reviews... posted more online... signed up for a GameFly trial or bought a Doghouse system... I felt a sense of emptiness knowing the show was going away.

Having lived in LA and now in SF, this show was my co-pilot during work commutes. It did something nothing else could - it made me love traffic because it meant I could listen to the show just a little bit longer.

Thank you all for your hard work, dedication, and for providing a clear and assertive voice for all of us who love video games and wish one day this industry receives the respect it so deserves.

Calling this show simply a podcast doesn't seem appropriate. It's more than that, and it will truly be missed.

  • I'm not sure how much Garnett and crew have been reading these stories, but I figure I'll throw mine in the mix.

A long time ago now, three magical things happened in the same summer (I was between 7th and 8th grade, I think): Penny Arcade called 1UP Yours the most important voice in the games industry, I bought Psychonauts after reading rave reviews, and I went to 1UP.com. I found a newfangled audio recording called a "podcast" where they were talking about Psychonauts (for the Pile of Shame), and I giggled at the name. "1UP Yours."

Imagine to my surprise (and delight) the four voices swearing, yelling, discussing, and analyzing the games I love and the industry I was beginning to discover. Most other people spent their Friday nights going out to movies or hanging out with friends. I hung out with the Four Horsemen of the games industry.

I've been listening to Garnett's work ever since - the highs, the lows, the beginnings, the endings, and everything in between. It was Weekend Confirmed that dragged me kicking and screaming through my college years, and affirmed my love of games and the people who make/discuss/love them. As I graduated college and packed my entire life up to move to a job 240 miles away from everyone I love, it was having my weekends confirmed by that same crew that had been there for the past three years that kept me sane, quite a bit of the time.

As I wish everyone well until the next adventure, let me just say: Garnett, if you need anything] at all, please ask. I'm sure that I'm not the only one who would be more than happy to give a little back to the guy who has done so much for all of us.

    Much love,
    goingcommando117

  • To the Weekend Confirmed Team

I created an account just today to let you all know that I have been listening to your weekly show for years now and was shocked to hear that this was the final episode.

I am sad to see this show go and I wish all of you the best in whatever you may be doing with your life moving forward.

Thank you again for the years of entertainment, news, and a podcast that I looked forward to every week.
