Halo: Spartan Assault invading Xbox One and 360 with co-op

Microsoft has, somewhat disingenuously, used Halo: Spartan Assault to advertise "having Halo" on Windows 8, when it's really only a so-so twin-stick shooter set within the same pointless fiction. Still, if you fancy having a bash but not buying Windows 8, good news: the game's coming to Xbox 360 and Xbox One in December.

The Xbox Live Arcade release will add online co-op support and new weapons, as well as the extra levels added on W8 in the free Operation Hydra update. There's no word yet from Microsoft on how much it'll cost, though the original is $6.99 so I'd be surprised if it were more than $9.99.

Here, have a peek at Spartan Assault in this trailer for the Windows 8 version.

I tried this on my phone and Surface and the touch controls really put me off. Interested to try it with a controller.
