Climax 'tech demo' screens look like Prince of Persia

Screens of a tech demo from Climax Studios bear a striking resemblance to Prince of Persia.

The Prince of Persia franchise has been dormant lately, but one developer might be interested in reviving it. Climax Studios, developer of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories and Smart As, has shown screenshots of a game that looks suspiciously similar to the setting and tone of the series. All Games Beta caught the screenshots before they were pulled from the Climax site. It was listed as a "tech demo," which indicates that it probably wasn't an active project. Most recently, Ubisoft remastered a classic Prince of Persia for mobile devices. It published The Forgotten Sands to tie in with the Sands of Time continuity used in the 2010 movie, and before that came the 2008 reboot, which may have been meant to turn into a series but fizzled. Earlier this year, Ubisoft CEO Yannis Mallat said the series was paused to give it "time to breathe." Ubisoft has also been developing Prince of Persia titles internally since Sands of Time, so we have no reason to think it would hand it to an outside developer. That doesn't sound promising for a new game from Climax, but at least we know they can nail the look.
