All indications point to the reveal of the next generation console dubbed Orbis. We've received our invite to the New York City shindig and we'll keep you posted as we learn more.

I can't wait to get the next generation started after the disappointment that is the WiiU. I plan on buying both of the next gen platforms and can't wait to see what they have for us!

Nintendo should pack it up, focus on handhelds and making great games for better systems and stop wasting all our money on gimmick game play

The iphone is savaging them for handheld stuff - they need to start branching out more.
I also think this 'game console only' idea is backwards, they need as much media shit as they can get nowadays.

WiiU was just an attempt to catch up to current gen. It kinda did, but will be left behind this year.

As long as they can still launch Mario Kart the same day as Grand Theft Auto and end up outselling it in the long run you'll still get systems from them and their games will be exclusive to them.

This reminds me of Nvidia talking down the importance of unified shaders only to end up being the first to release a PC card with unified shaders in the form of the Geforce 8800.

There aint nothing wrong with Wii U. Its Nintendo's new platform. Just like this announcement may be SONY's new platform (which is unnecessary since PS3 barely was pushed to its limits).
This is all about posturing. Makes for good headlines and gets gamers wet with anticipation. Thing is, all you are going to do is play more photo-realistic shooters.
      So whats the point?
      Its a snore-fest.

        I'll take photo-realistic adventure/rpgs over any shooter.

Would be interesting if they launched it in September to preempt the Christmas fight, and had GTA5 as an exclusive next-gen title (with simultaneous release on PS3/360). Total speculation, but it would be a big move.

This wouldn't really surprise me all that much if it were to happen. Seems logical especially with Rockstar's announcement of the release date of GTA V and then a few hours later this whole Sony thing. Seems rather well timed.
