Far Cry 3 10-minute launch trailer welcomes you to the jungle

Far Cry 3 gets a new ten-minute launch trailer that gives a thorough breakdown of what players can expect to encounter.

Far Cry 3's epic tale of survival begins in earnest next week, and while the new "launch" trailer certainly won't make the wait any easier, it does give a comprehensive breakdown of many of the games features, mission-types, and multiplayer modes.

Clocking in at over 10 minutes, the new trailer covers a wealth of information about all things Far Cry 3, detailing its factions, and introducing some of the more colorful characters you'll encounter. It is narrated by Dennis (shown above), one of the first friendly characters the player will encounter. It is the most comprehensive trailer for the game yet.

You can check out my review of the excellent single-player campaign for a bit more information, and then crouch in the brush, waiting for the December 4 release to walk by so that you can jump out and snag it.

I'm about four hours in and it's good so far. Why people love it so much over Far Cry 2 I'm not seeing yet.

The only things I recall disliking about Far Cry 2 was the quick re-spawning checkpoints, the malaria "sub-plot" just being an annoyance, and the first map was a total piece of crap compared to the second.

Is it tru it has ridiculous hand-holding HUD features that cant be disabled? Like NPC icons, quest goal direction prompts etc?

Looks like it, I don't mind them except the stupid popups reminding you about your active mission.

NPC icons are when you tag them using the camera (binocular in the prequels). If you aim at a person/animal long enough, they are also tagged.

That's not so bad. The quest goal indicator might annoy me though.

I stayed up til 2 AM to have it unlock on Steam and I started the editor.. played an hour with that and went to bed. Didn't touch the game yet. I actually bought the game for the editor, it's so cool :D
