PlayStation Mobile kicks off on Vita and Android on October 3

Sony has announced that its PlayStation Mobile initiative will kick off on October 3.

Vita owners will experience a new influx of games once PlayStation Mobile launches on October 3. Sony's initiative allows indie developers to create games across select PlayStation Certified Android devices and Vita using a single low-price SDK. At launch, about 30 new games will be available to purchase, with prices as low as 50 yen (likely $.99 in the US). Games from both first-party and third-party teams will be available.

The current line-up of PlayStation Certified devices include HTC One X, HTC One S, HTC One V, Xperia arc, Xperia PLAY, Xperia S, Xperia ion, Xperia acro S, Xperia TX, Xperia T, Xperia V, Xperia SL, Sony Tablet S, Sony Tablet P, Xperia Tablet S. Going forward, both Sharp and Fujitsu have pledged to offer support as well.

As previously reported, PlayStation Mobile will allow Trophy support for games, which might just be enough to tempt trophy hunters if they happen to own a supported device. Here's some of the games you can expect:
