The Planetside 2 beta has started to roll out, but if you didn't get in this round keep your chin up. Sony Online Entertainment has assured that the waves will continue to hit in the coming weeks, and has detailed exactly how they'll be stacked to assure loyal customers get ahead of the unwashed masses.

PC Gamer reports that priority will be given to active Planetside subscribers first, then inactive past subscribers, and finally priority beta code and opt-in registrants. Participants for the external beta will have the invites sent to the e-mail address associated with the account, and will be held to a non-disclosure agreement.

Paging Fred Garvin. This should be enough detail for everyone who has questions about Beta status.

Kinda bummed that they put some of the people who bought the original just recently just to get into the PS2 beta to have priority over non-subbed vets. Would've liked to see more true vets who are more familiar with the general game mechanics so they can provide proper beta input as oppose to some who just want to play it early. Don't get me wrong, it would be great to have input from multiple perspectives but it would be nice to get it from people who know the original and can appreciate and provide insight on the changes they made to this one.
