Following E3, various outlets--Shacknews included--are invited every year to vote on the best of E3. After careful deliberation, the winners have been decided! Irrational Games' BioShock Infinite took home the top prizes, including Best of Show, Best Original Game and Best PC Game. Unexpectedly, Bethesda's Elder Scrolls game took home the award for Best Console Game.

PlayStation Vita beat out the Nintendo WiiU for Best Hardware, likely boosted by the strong showing of Sound Shapes (which also won Best Handheld Game and Best Casual Game). Nintendo didn't exactly get snubbed, though. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword took the prize as Best Motion Game, besting the new efforts of PlayStation Move and Kinect.

Here's the full list of winners:

still baffled that bioshock was in 'original game' category. Shouldn't having BIOSHOCK in the title keep it out of the list? Sure they say it's a 'separate game from 1' or something, but it's still a shooter adventure in a different setting.

Mechanics don't seem too original cuz I swear metroid prime 3 had a similar 'dungeon' ;P

Don't get me wrong, still think the game will be GOTY material, just feel sorry for the other smaller games in that category that pretty much had no chance of winning =(

      Seems about right!

As for Bioshock Infinite, just having Bioshock in the title should not prevent it from being considered an original game, if the game is wholly original and not a sequel to the previous Bioshock games. The Vigors could be considered another version of the ...what were they called again in Bioshock? Plasmids? But I think we're splitting hairs then, because then we could also say that both of these games rip off Mario because you're using power-ups, and we all know how deep that rabbit hole can go. One thing though, who is actually overseeing this vote? Is it E3 itself, or some third-party organization?

That wouldn't really be splitting hairs to make the comparison though. This game still has the word Bioshock in the freaking title, so and and all comparisons to the other two Bioshock games are valid. For all intents and purposes, this is Bioshock 3. I'm willing to grant that it looks pretty fun, but winning Best Original Game just because they didn't put the 3 in the name is kinda bullshit. It'd be like Black Ops winning that category.
