Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia trilogies delayed

Ubisoft has delayed the Splinter Cell Classic Trilogy HD to June 21 and the Prince of Persia Trilogy HD to April 19.

At the 11th hour, Ubisoft has delayed the PlayStation 3 exclusives Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Classic Trilogy HD and Prince of Persia Trilogy HD. IGN reports that the Splinter Cell collection, which was due out yesterday, has been pushed to June 21, 2011. Ubisoft confirmed the delay, but didn't give a reason behind it.

Though not mentioned in the report, the Prince of Persia Trilogy HD, which was announced alongside the Splinter Cell collection and was set to come out the same day, has slipped as well. Several retailers are now listing the game for release on April 19.

As previously announced, the Tom Clancy set includes the original Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow, and Chaos Theory. The Prince of Persia set includes The Sands of Time, Warrior Within, and Two Thrones. Each comes with remastered HD and stereoscopic 3D support and will cost $39.99. The Prince of Persia games are already available for download through the PlayStation Network in North America, for $14.99 each.

I liked the first two SC's and the original remake of PoP. These re-releases do nothing for me though.

Looking forward to when the Splinter Cell fanatics tear the rerelease apart and highlight all of its differences and improvements.

Picking it up just for Chaos Theory HD.

They might not be able to fit the three splinter cells on one DVD. I figure that was the reason these weren't coming to 360.

I'd love to replay the Splinter Cell games in "HD". :(

The ESRB site has them listed as both PS3 and 360, but I don't know how reliable that is.

The Splinter Cell trilogy are the only ones of the series I liked. Once the latest went with all that much action, I was out. SC had a legit chance to dethrone MGS as my favorite stealthy type of game, but it jumped the shark in the last two versions.

Yeah I prefer the first 3 games too. Not sure if I'll go for the upgraded versions though. Kind of over it now. :\
