Crysis 2 PS3 demo pulled to fix bugs

Though the Crysis 2 multiplayer demo has only been available on PS3 since Tuesday, it's already being pulled due to connection bugs.

Though the Crysis 2 multiplayer demo only hit the PlayStation 3 on Tuesday, publisher EA has announced that it's being pulled due to connection bugs.

"Though many gamers have had a great experience playing the demo, we are aware that others have been experiencing server connection delays," EA said yesterday. "We've identified the root cause and have decided to close the PS3 demo in the next 24 hours to ensure all issues are resolved when the game launches next week. Our priority is to ensure that the final product is flawless at launch."

The first, Xbox 360-exclusive Crysis 2 multiplayer demo also suffered connection issues when it launched in January.

Crytek's super-suited shooter sequel is due to be released for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on March 22.

Its a shame they cant handle these bugs before they put this stuff out. I've been seriously enjoying the second Demo on the 360. I think Crysis 2 is going to surprise a lot of people... the multiplayer is excellent, and I've only played the demo. Cant wait for the full game on Tuesday.

It's funny that we live in a world where "Betas" are actually Demos, and "Demos" are now actually Betas. Weird.

That is so true :) The Halo Reach Multiplayer Beta, even with all its bugs, was more polished than most shipping games.

I was super excited about this game, but all the 'mixed' coverage over the past couple months has turned me off a little bit. I hope the game lives up to its potential.

The multiplayer beta was so blah that I've lost some interest in this game. That and the 3D implementation was so sloppy that it doesn't give me much confidence.

I was playing the 3D version at GDC and I was blown away. The first game to make me think that 3D may not just be a gimmick. You have to get this game.

The networking on the PC is solid, was able to find servers quickly and there was no lag.

I'm glad to see they focused so much on multiplayer this time, so the game will be a blast to play for months and years after the single player is over.

I hope they add some maps though, maybe in a DLC.
