I'm glad they were candid about Steam. A great read for any id or Valve fan. With a lot of good points. I'm also stoked they have been forced back into the arms of Nintendo. It's going to be nice to see something from id on the DS and it would be great if they could port some of their N64 era ports to the VC or (dare I dream) a full Wii game.

I was surprised to learn that Valve's cut of a non-Source game is basically the same as a publisher.

What makes you say they were "forced" back into the arms of Nintendo?

Maybe a bad choice of words. My intuition tells me the DS platform is too good for them to ignore. So they are being forced back into dealing with Nintendo after having some commercial disappointment with Quake 4. But what do i know?

It's one of the best general gaming business and technology articles I've read in a long time. Not even just id-specific stuff, it's just very interesting, and largely applicable to the industry as a whole.
