The 3D Realms website has been updated with the first Prey Weekly Update, a development diary of sorts written by Chris Rhinehart of Human Head talking about the development of the game. The update starts with an overview of the history of the game at Human Head Studios, before Chris mentions that the game "is completely playable from start to finish", with the team now working on bug fixing and optimization. In other news the game's official website launched, offering a single new screenshot

    am i crazy or do the textures appear to be sharper than in doom III and quake IV?

      Yeah they look very nice and crisp, perhaps not as muddled as Doom 3? I any event, the graphics look beautiful and have a nice bespoke feel to them.

      I would hope so since Prey's taking place in a modern environment, not some broken down lab/war zone.

          I should correct myself, this game's storyline takes place in the near future. lol, yeah, I guess once homeboy gets kidnapped by the aliens the environments turn alien. Point is, this is a newer game and shouldn't be exluced from looking sharper. God knows they'll at least ditch the browns.

            Yes, the game (or at least all they've shown of it) takes place on an alien ship that is itself like a living organism. So it seems futuristic for the most part.

      doom 3 is the worst looking d3 engine game, hehe. everything since has made some cool changes with it to really make it purty
