Movie Time!

Well it's a holiday weekend and Steve hasn't done one of these in awhile, so I may as well take it back.

Two movies I saw recently were Lilo and Stitch and Men in Black 2. Lilo and Stitch was great . The characters really came alive - Lilo was not just a run of the mill kid. Also nice was that this wasn't a redone fairy tale by Disney - it was an original story and very entertaining. I guess that the movie really just felt fresh to me.

Men in Black 2 though was a bit of a disappointment. I went in expecting little, and unfortunately I came out knowing that my fears came true. The fears were that they would be trying to take two funny jokes from the first movie - the worms and Frank the dog - and drag those out. They sure did, and the chemistry between Smith and Jones was taken to the back burner. Also, while the bad guy from the first movie was really entertaining, the two bad guys in this (Johnny Knoxville and Lara Flynn Boyle) just didn't have that spark. Especially Johnny, who wasn't entertaining once through the whole thing. Put that with Smith's lackluster delivery and the movie just seemed to plod along until it was just over.

Anyway, what do you guys think of what's out there? Write about it in the comments, and don't overuse the spoiler tag please.
