If you've been waiting for 11 bit studios' Frostpunk to head to consoles, we've got great news for you.
Frostpunk: Console Edition is out now, so you don't have to rely on playing the PC version anymore. You can jump into his harrowing adventure, which puts you in charge of a 19th-century leader of the last Earth colony. You're tasked with keeping up with the city's infrastructure, developing new tech to help the people in the colony survive a wintry apocalypse, and a ton of other important missions.
Currently, the game is only on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, which leaves Switch players out of the equation. Check out the official trailer for the console version below, and see if you want to take the plunge. My professional opinion is that you definitely will want to.
Previously, I reviewed Frostpunk here at Shacknews and awarded it an 8 out of 10. Here's what I thought:
"Frostpunk is a unique take on city-building and crisis management that manages to make you care about the simulated humans that make up your workforce and citizenry in a way that other games in the genre don't. Each person is an integral cog in the machine that keeps your city warm and alive and managing their needs along with the resources that you require made for a frantic and rewarding experience. The game does lose a bit of its luster after you beat the main scenario, but the two additional stories do put what you learned to the test. I'm eager to see what new situations 11 Bit Studios adds to the Frostpunk in the future, as the concept has a ton of untapped potential."
You can pick up Frostpunk: Console Edition for $29.99 digitally or $34.99 for the physical edition now.
Brittany Vincent posted a new article, Frostpunk: Console Edition available now on Xbox One & PS4
They made Cities Skylines work, can't see how this can't be done similarly. (Not same company, just that KBM-heavy games can be made playable on console)
